SANGEETHA MICHAEL is the Director of the Music Institute of North Carolina and the representative for the London piano exams for the state of North Carolina. She has over thirty years of experience teaching music to students of all ages. Born into a musical family—her mother a national icon and her father an orchestral and film music director in Sri Lanka—she developed a lifelong love for music. Michael studied piano under the London program and earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music. Trained in Western Classical, Indian Classical, and traditional Sri Lankan music, she began her career teaching students from preschool through high school and later served as a lecturer at the University of Sri Lanka before moving to the United States. Michael has performed on international stages and media platforms and composes music that blends Western and Indian Classical styles. Her extensive experience has helped countless students earn Distinctions and perfect scores in international piano exams. She remains deeply committed to providing every student with the opportunity to explore music, nurture creativity, and realize their full potential.
